Ushers Ministry Auxiliary to the General Missionary Baptist Convention of Georgia, Inc. For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness. Psalms 84:10 Purpose/Mission The purpose of ushering is to “Help Win Souls For Christ!” Evangelism is a part of every Ushers duty, helping to bring the unsaved to Church, where they are brought in contact with the meaning of Grace. Ushers must be dedicated to the cause of Christ. Ushers represent the general character of the Church. Ushers must convey a favorable impression to the worshippers, ensuring that everything is done decently and in order. Ushering is the art of making members and visitors feel comfortable and lending “Spiritual Dignity” to the Worship Service. Ushers united throughout the twelve districts, monthly meetings are held which includes training. Yearly conference is held to enhance the spiritual growth of the Ushers within the local church.
